THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE, the third film in the studio’s TWILIGHT film franchise based on Stephenie Meyer’s blockbuster book series, will be directed by David Slade from a screenplay written by Melissa Rosenberg. The film will be released theatrically in North America on Wednesday, June 30, 2010.

“We are incredibly happy that Bryce has agreed to come into the franchise,” said Erik Feig, Summit’s President of Worldwide Production and Acquisitions. “Rachelle brought “Victoria” to great screen life and Bryce will bring a new dimension to the character. The franchise is lucky to have such a talented actress as Bryce coming in to fill the role.”

Howard most recently starred in TERMINATOR SALVATION as Kate Connor and has been seen in SPIDER-MAN 3, LADY IN THE WATER, and THE VILLAGE. She was nominated for a Golden Globe for her leading performance as an actress in the HBO film AS YOU LIKE IT.

Lefevre will play Clara, Barney’s first wife, a wild, troubled artist. Driver plays Barney’s second wife, the annoyingly loquacious Mrs. “P.” Miriam, Barney’s third wife and true love, will be played by Pike.

"Sam Trammell is looking to bring an end to the Great Twilight/True Blood Vampire Wars.

Though there's been some seeming bad blood between the cast members of the two vampire vehicles, Trammell-who plays Sam Merlotte on HBO's bloodsucker series-wants to bridge the gap. By recruiting Kristen Stewart into the True Blood fold.

While Trammell admits that he's yet to see the Twilight movie, he told E! Online at this weekend's Comic-Con convention that he'd love to have Bella Swan-or at least the actress who plays her-on his show.

"I really loved her in Adventureland," Trammell enthused. "I'd love her to come on. She could be a little vampire or a victim."

Hmm; would that constitute some kind of conflict of interest?"

"So I stand up thinking Taylor never arrived basically thinking he never came to comic-con, then when i was about to walk away when he arrives from far away then he stares for a moment probably counting the fans, and walks over i was freaking out, he singned autographs he was not even 12 inches far away , but i didnt wanted to act crazy, So I asked him for a hand shake , and his security guard said "you cant touch him" out loud I was embarressed, Taylor just stared at me and smiled and hand shaked me then i asked him for a picture, he said yes, I took two pictures in my camera then i showed him the picture and said "we Look hot" we laughed then somebody told him it was time to leave i gave him a hug then said thanks and he smiled I was shaking!"

• New Moon director Chris Weitz tells HitFix there will be a track by Bon Iver (pictured) in the film-"I selfishly want to put songs in by artists I love. And some the cast and crew also happen to love," says Weitz. "I think [Bon Iver] is fantastic. He says he wrote it for the film, but who ever knows if it might just be something laying around in his cupboard"
• Chris Weitz re-confirms that Radiohead's Thom Yorke has a new song for the soundrack , and he listened to it for the first time yesterday. "Unless it's sounds of him belching, I think I'll put it in" Weitz said.
• The soundtrack will be released on October 13, 2009.

"Hi guys, Nathan here. Now for something that you probably didn't know about Ben and me. We're into Twilight. Like IN TOit. It started when we were visiting our record label almost a year ago and they had a bunch of copies of the book laying around and I needed something to read on the airplane on the way back to Denver. Anyways - it was one of those obsessed-at-first-page type scenarios where I didn't put the book down for two days and two nights until it was completely absorbed by my eyes and my brain. If you'd of told me earlier in my life that I'd be reading vampire love story saga I'd call you crazy, but sometimes life throws you curveballs...

"So I finished ‘Eclipse' (the third book) about a week ago before a show with Copeland in Cali. I bought ‘Breaking Dawn' (the last one) at the airport in San Francisco before I flew home to Denver to play a show. Yadda yadda we're playing our first show with The Fray in Phoenix two nights ago and I had been reading the in the dressing room and got to page 120 or something like that when all of a sudden some says in passing really nonchalant "Yeah, the Twilight author, Stephenie Meyer is gonna be here tonight". Then I had this split second indecision of "Should I try to play it cool and act like I meet super famous genius writers all the time? OR should I flip out and tell her what a big fan I am and get my picture taken with her?". I think it's pretty obvious which one I picked. Stephenie was AWESOME. We got to hang out and chatted for a while! If it wasn't for the fact that we had to go on stage to play, I probably would've tried to talk to her all night."

The Voluturi! Oh the Volturi! They're straight from the pages of Stephenie Meyer's book! The freaky red eyes, pale skin, the chic Italian clothes, a family crest pendant - everything down to the smallest detail - suits their coven perfectly. They make a deliciously deadly vampire mafia. "It could have been bad," Lefevre admits. "But I think because Harry Potter went through it first to their benefit, we were like, ‘The Potter kids went through a director shift and they were OK, so we'll be OK, too.'

"And we were. Chris came in with such a clear idea of what the movie was. And he paid respect to what had come before - so it was kind of seamless."

Rachelle LeFevre also gives an idea of how here character Victoria changes from the first movie of the Twilight Saga-

"In the first movie, because I didn't have as much screen time, I wanted to be very clear. I wanted to convey energy and be very present, but also very playful. And that's because (Victoria) enjoyed stalking Bella with James.

"But when James is killed, it becomes about exacting revenge, which comes from a totally different place. It's not just a game any more."

Meanwhile, StarShine caged the jovial, bantering Monkeys (sans Ben J.) for an exclusive interview in which they discuss stage life, Twilight mania, obscure global theorems, and humpback whales.

What's the origin of the 100 Monkeys?

Jackson: The 100 Monkeys started with Ben G. and I-like 3 years ago-whenever he moved to L.A. We were roommates back in high school. We knew Ben J. back then, and we started the band as a two-man group just doing improv music and trying to get Ben J. out to Los Angeles to make some music with us. Along the way, we happened to meet up with Jared Anderson who we would jam with all the time. Now we all are together in harmony. It's fantastic.

Ben G: It's like an MTV reality show.

Would you ever do one of those?

Jackson: No, that would make even more drama out of what little drama there is.

Jared: If it was a Discovery Channel reality show, yes.

Speaking of the Discovery Channel, why did you choose to name the band after "The Hundredth Monkey Effect," which per your MySpace page, "generally describes the instant, paranormal spreading of an idea or ability to the remainder of a population once a certain portion of that population has heard of the new idea or learned the new ability"?

Jackson: That was one part of it, and [that idea] if you get 100 monkeys in the room with 100 typewriters, eventually they'll create the works of Shakespeare. (See: Infinite Monkey Theorem) It's the certain style of music we make and the music we write.

If you came up with your own Monkey Effect, what idea would you like to impart on society?

Ben G: Wow!

Jackson: We're really trying to get people into the Spencer Bell Memorial. (http://www.spencerbellmemorial.com/) It's a benefit for adrenal cancer research and our friend Spencer Bell, who was our greatest influence in all of our music. He passed away about three years ago, so we're just working, trying to keep his memory alive and keep his music out to the masses. We were able to raise money to put out one of his albums, and we have 3 more because of the fan support that we've been getting. It's just incredible.

Why have you chosen to use improv in your music?

Jared: I think because we started as actors, most of us, minus Ben J. Improv is part of acting, so we all love doing it. We play well off each other, and we do take straight-up audience suggestions and make up a song on the spot, even all the instrumental parts.

Just then, the sound of piano keys interrupts his thought as the boys chime in, singing and playing notes, "It's a song that we're singing for the very first time..." Over just as soon as it started, they jump back on the interview train -

Jackson: See, genius! Where inspiration takes you, it takes you hard. If you take the drummer and the drummer starts playing bass and the singer starts singing backup vocals, you find a whole new bunch of stuff in the music that you might not find if you didn't allow yourself the freedom to change the lyrics once in a while or completely make up a song.

Jared: It's called the 100 Monkeys Switcheroo.

Ben G: We increase each other's talents.

Jackson: We all come from different backgrounds and ways of learning music. It's really interesting, and it's really cool to have that diversity ‘cause when it comes together, it creates this union of -

Jared: - magic. A union of magic.

Jackson: Sometimes it sounds awful...but still magic. Sometimes it sounds good. (laughs)

Can everyone play all of the instruments?

Ben G: Not yet, but almost. People have their strengths. Everybody specializes I think in probably two things.

Jackson: We wanna give the audience a show. We love our fans. We love performing, and we feel that when you come to our show, you're gonna get to hear a song that's never going to be played live again. People always come up to us at the end of shows requesting other improv songs.

Jared: I actually feel like we owe it to ‘em after a while because they're like demanding, and I'm like, "I don't know how!" I'm like, "Let's just suck it up and learn it!"

Given that three out of the four of you are also actors, do you have a preference between music and acting?

Jackson: I wanna have my cake and eat it too. I wanna do both. I think the way we figure it, it feeds both sides of the creative process.

Jackson: It's definitely gotten us some attention, but I think the main thing is our lives shows. People get to -

Jared: - escape into a fun land. Enjoy good music.

Jackson: Yeah, we like to have a good time. That's what we're always trying to do - play music for as many people as possible.

Jared: Hopefully, they come in ready to rock out and have some fun. That's all you can expect.

Ben G: If you scream loud enough, we'll make up a song that you decide what it's called. Things like guitar picks and sweat.

Jackson: We like to give things away a lot on stage.

Jared: Sometimes we bring monkeys and throw them into the crowd.

Jackson: By the way, Ben J. is an adamant whale enthusiast. I know that if he were here, he would want to mention something about preserving the humpback whale in particular. Just figured I'd throw that in there.

What is your typical day like on the set of New Moon, the sequel to Twilight?

KELLAN - New Moon was a very relaxed film to work on and it all starts with how easy going director Chris Wietz is. That vibe rolls down to the crew and actors. It makes it so easy when we've all worked together before. Everything was so well organized, making it easy for the actors to do our job. We had more time to just laugh and make jokes and hang out; it's important to have a cast that gels the way we do and you'll see that more in the second film.

Where do you see yourself in five or ten years?

KELLAN - I'd like to continue acting for as long as possible. I truly love it and I am lucky that not only is it my career but it's something I really enjoy doing so it doesn't feel like work. Hopefully in ten years, I'll have an amazing family with a beautiful wife and little Kellan's running around to play football with.

"I don't think so," says Ms. Greene. "[Eclipse director] David [Slade] and [New Moon director] Chris [Weitz] will both be busy in postproduction, and Catherine [Hardwicke] will be doing Hamlet."

The dawn of a new "Twilight" will bring star power to Knoxville this November when "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," the sequel to the 2008 breakout film "Twilight," is premiered at Regal Cinemas' Pinnacle 18 at Turkey Creek in advance of its scheduled Nov. 20 release.

Although confirmation of the Knoxville premiere of the movie is set, several key details are yet to be determined, including ticket prices, just which star or stars of the movie will come to town, and even the date of the event.

"I'm hoping to have the details pinned down within 30 to 60 days," said Greg Dunn, chief operating officer of Regal Entertainment Group.

I have it on good word from a couple of tips sent from people on-set that the duo of Kristen and Dakota have filmed an intense lesbian makeout scene for the movie. Just wait till the mainstream press gets their claws on that one!

Who smells better? "Robert Pattinson...he smells like heaven."

Who'd win in a fight? "I have to go with Edward Cullen, although you know Walker was pretty invincible, but I don't think that Walker's fractured slow-mo could save him against Edward. In fact, in real life Rob's no slouch in the ring. He could take somebody, but Chuck, I don't quite think so."

Who has a better beard? "You gotta go Chuck Norris with the beard. Nothing beats that thing."
